‘Stranger Things’, one of the most watched series on Netflix since 2016, is now gearing up for its end. The fifth and the last season of the series is expected to release in 2025. The series gained immense popularity gradually with each passing season.
The renewal of the final season was announced long back, even before the release of the fourth season in 2022. Unfortunately, the recent writers’ strike caused the delay of its release. Although the exact date has not been announced yet, it’s supposed to release in Summer or Spring 2025.
All the cast and crew members of ‘Stranger Things’ are currently busy preparing to shoot for the show for the last time. Joe Keery, who plays the role of Steve Harrington, is no exception. He told Women’s Wear Daily that it won’t be easy for him to handle the ending of the series, “It does feel like it’s time. I mean, I owe my whole career to being on that show and all the opportunities that I had since are because of that show.”
“So it’s very convoluted. There’s a sense of relief, there’s a sense of sadness. I guess my goal is to just really soak it up as much as I can while we’re doing it, and not take any of it for granted because it’s been an amazing ride with such great people. And then once it’s done, move forward and try to just hold on to the joy that we had when we were making it…Everything has a beginning and the middle and an end. It’ll be nice to have the end of this too”, Keery further added.
Due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, the filming of the fifth part has been delayed. According to the makers, as soon as the strike ends, the production will begin.
