The ravishing and beautiful Raveena Tandon made her debut in ‘Patthar Ke Phool’ in 1991, which completes 30 years of its release this year. Raveena was very much famous during the ‘90s. She has given many hits after ‘Patthar Ke Phool’ like ‘Jeena Marna Tere Sang’ (1992), ‘Ek Hi Raasta’ (1993), ‘Mohra’ (1994), ‘Dilwale’ (1994) and many more. She has also done the cult classic comedy film ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ (1994), which also starred Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor in the lead roles. Raveena won Best Supporting Actress award at Filmfare Awards.
‘Patthar Ke Phool’ also starred Salman Khan opposite of Raveena. It was directed by Anant Balani, produced by G. P. Sippy and written by Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan. Though Raveena has done other films too with Salman khan, but in an interview before, she revealed that she had a lot of fights with Salman during the shoot of the film and for that Salman decided not to work with her anymore.
‘Patthar Ke Phool’ is a story about Suraj (Salman Khan), who falls in love with Kiran (Raveena Tandon), who is the daughter of a gangster named Balraj Khanna (Manohar Singh). Suraj gets to know that the reason behind his actual father’s death is Balraj Khanna and then he takes revenge from him. Apart from Raveena and Salman, the film also starred Kiran Kumar, Vinod Mehra, Vivek Vaswani, Reema Lagoo, Goga Kapoor and Pradeep Ram Singh Rawat in pivotal roles. The film was one of the highest grossing films of that year. Raveena won Best Female Debut at Filmfare Awards for this film.
‘Patthar Ke Phool’s nine songs were smash hits and were composed by Raamlaxman (arranged by Uttam Singh) and the singers are S.P. Balasubramanyam, Lata Mangeshkar and Amit Kumar. “Sun Dilruba”, “Na Jaa Na Jaa”, “Kaabhi Tu Chhaliya Lagta Hai”, “Tumse Jo Dekhte Hi Pyaar Hua”, “Maut Se Kya Darna”, “Deewana Dil Bin Saajna Ke Maane Na”, “Saajna Tere Bina Kya Jeena”, “Aaja Aaja Aaja” and “Jab Bhi Milo” are still played on radio and are viewed widely on YouTube.
On the current work front, Raveena Tandon will be seen in ‘K.G.F. Chapter 2’, which is expected to be release on 14th April, 2022 and Salman Khan’s upcoming film ‘Antim: The Final Truth’ is going to release on 26th November.
