In the ‘70s and ‘90s, there was one actor, grabbing the audience’s attention with his charming looks and marvellous acting skills and it is none other than, John Joseph Travolta. Born in 1954, today the veteran actor turned 68 years old. Travolta got his first break through a TV sitcom ‘Welcome Back, Kotter’ (1975-1979). The series was commercially successful at that time.
From then on, Travolta has done many remarkable movies and series, which made him gain popularity such as ‘Carrie’ (1976), ‘Saturday Night Fever’ (1977), ‘Grease’ (1978), ‘Urban Cowboy’ (1980) among others. Travolta has won an Academy Award for ‘Saturday Night Fever’ and a Golden Globe Award for ‘Get Shorty’ (1995). He has also received an IIFA Award and a Primetime Emmy Award.
John Travolta has dropped out of school to pursue his career as an actor. He moved to New York to work in his cult classic musical ‘Grease’ and later moved to L.A. But he was not seen in any projects and was totally vanished in the whole ‘80s era and again rose to fame in ‘90s with his roles for projects like ‘Pulp Fiction’ (1994), ‘Get Shorty’ (1995), ‘Broken Arrow’ (1996), ‘Phenomenon’ (1996), ‘Face/Off’ (1997), ‘A Civil Action’ (1998), ‘Primary Colors’ (1998) and further kept on doing notable works in 2000s like ‘Hairspray’ (2007) and ‘Bolt’ (2008). Travolta was last seen in ‘Die Hart’ (2020) series as Ron Wilcox.
The two musicals ‘Saturday Night Fever’ and ‘Grease’ made him one of the youngest actors in the entertainment industry to get nominated for Oscars.
