It has come to light that several people who worked on the Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer ‘Selfiee’ (2023) are yet to be paid. The film workers are now reaching out to the Film Studios Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union to get their dues cleared.

According to a statement made by the Film Studios Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union, a large number of the workers who set up the sets of Raj Mehta directed Dharma Productions’ ‘Selfiee’ are yet to receive their remuneration. Even the ones who worked on Mithun Chakraborty’s upcoming film ‘Baap’, co-starring Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Sunny Deol and Aditya Roy Kapur’s ‘Rashtra Kavach Om’ (2022) are yet to be compensated. The workers asked assistance from BJP leader and MP Sunny Deol, but their plea fell on deaf ears.

According to Union President Ashok Dubey, members of the Film Studios Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union worked on ‘Rastra Kavach Om’ from January to April 2021. They claim that Ahmed Khan, the film’s producer, has declined to pay the dues of more than Rs. 21.50 Lakh. Another group of labourers who also worked on Ahmed Khan’s ‘Baap’, owe nearly the same amount to the film’s producer. As per reports, the workers have now filed a police complaint against the makers.
