Vivek Agnihotri has always been interested in writing. His first book ‘Urban Naxals: The Making of Buddha in a Traffic Jam’ received a lot of acclaim and he is now coming up with his second non-fiction book – ‘Who Killed Shastri?: The Tashkent Files’. It contains elements of death mystery around the legendary Lal Bahadur Shastri. The book is available online for pre-orders and will hit the stands on August 28.
According to the author, it is, “The first-ever book to investigate the mysterious death of independent India’s second prime minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri, from all possible angles.”
He further shares, “Four years ago I figured out that the first fundamental right of a citizen in a democracy has to be right to the truth but how is it possible if we don’t know the truth of our second prime minister Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri mysterious death in Tashkent. That’s how this journey begin after filling many RTIS and struggling with all the possible sources. We decided to chase the truth and discovered the truth behind Shastri Ji’s death and in this journey. I rediscovered the synergetic politics of India between the humiliating defeat by China in 1962 till the in a position of an emergency. How India was sold and I concluded that whoever killed Shastri are the same people who sold India. This book is my spiritual journey into politics and very strongly conveys that is because of the absence of spirituality and moral values in politics. How India has suffered generations after generations. This book is also a warning to the new generation that why they must fight in moral politics and always stand up and fight for right their truth.”
On the work front, Vivek Agnihotri will start working on ‘The Kashmir Files’.
