The wait is finally over and many blockbusters are going to hit the big screen this year. Here are some awaited movies which will surely blow the minds of millions of fans.
In the month of February we will witness Kriti Sanon in the movie ‘Mimi’ with Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa and Supria Pathak. In this movie, Kriti Sanon will play the role of a surrogate mother, this is a remake of a Marathi language film ‘Aai Vhhaychy’. After quite a long time Parineeti Chopra will be seen opposite Arjun Kapoor in ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’. The film follows the story of a man and woman who represent two completely different Indians who finally got united by their mistrust, suspicion, and hatred for each other. Nusrat Bharucha will be seen opposite Sunny Kaushal in ‘Hurdang’. The film is a love story set in the backdrop of the student agitation of 1990 in Allahabad. It doesn’t end here, Namashi Chakrabarty will share the screen with Amrin Qureshi in ‘Bad Boy’. It is a Bollywood quirky-comedy, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. And ‘Ravan Leela’ will be starred by Pratik Gandhi, helmed by Hardik Gajjar films and is written by Shreyes Anil Lowlekar.
Jhanvi kapoor will be romancing Rajkumar Rao in ‘Roohi Afzana’ a comedy horror film directed by Hardik Mehta and produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner Maddock Films and is set to hit on the big screen in March. ‘Hasina Dilruba’, a Hindi-language mystery thriller film directed by Vinil Mathew and co-produced by Colour Yellow Productions, starring Taapsee Pannu will most probably release in the second week of March. Another blockbuster ‘Sooryavanshi’ an action film directed by Rohit Shetty starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif with Gulshan Grover, Jackie Shroff, Javed Jafferey in supporting roles and Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh will reprise their roles of Singham and Simmba from the franchise’s previous films. ‘Sooryavanshi’ is said to showcase itself in March. If not it may get postponed till Good Friday. ‘Bahubali’ (2016) villain Rana Daggubati will be seen in ‘Hathi Mere Sathi’, which was also shot in Tamil as Kaadan and Telegu as Aranya and the movie will release on the 26th of March. The remake of the much loved crime comedy movie ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ casting Rani Mukherjee and Saif Ali Khan will hit the big screen in March as well.
The biopic of Kapil Dev ’83’ starring Ranveer Singh is supposed to reach fans in April. Vicky Kaushal’s movie ‘Sardaar Udham Singh’ a biographical film about Udham Singh, a revolutionary freedom fighter best known for assassinating Michael O’Dwyer in London will release this April. ‘Toofan’ starring Farhan Akhtar and Mrunal Thakur to release three weeks after the release of ‘Sooryavanshi’. The sequel of ‘Hungama’ (2003) as ‘Hungama 2’ starring Meezan, Shilpa Shetty and Paresh Rawal will release this April. ‘Radhe Shyam’ casting Prabhas and Pooja Hegde will release this April as well.
Eid is incomplete without a Salman Khan’s movie. ‘Radhe’ starring Salman Khan and Disha Patani, it is an action film directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Salman Khan, Sohail Khan and Atul Agnihotri, will release this May on Eid. ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’ starring John Abraham will also find its way in May. ‘Shiddat: A Journey Beyond Love’ starring Diana Penty, Radhika Madan, Sunny Kaushal and Mohit Raina will also release this May.
Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bell Bottom’ a spy thriller film which also stars Vaani Kapoor will release this June. Ayushmann Khurana with Vaani Kapoor in ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ a love story set in North India, will release this June. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyya 2’ a standalone sequel to Priyadarshan’s 2007 iconic horror comedy ‘Bhool Bhulaiyya’ (2007) will also hit the screens this June starring Kartik Aryan, Kiara Advani and Tabu a comedy horror film directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar.
Independence day will be marked with Akshay Kumar’s movie ‘One’.
‘Maidaan’ a biographical sports film based on the golden era of Indian football (1952–62) which will hit the screens this Dussehra, starring Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. ‘Maidaan’ is directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Zee Studios in collaboration with Bayview Projects LLP.
And finally ending this year with the Diwali hit by none other than Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham’s ‘Pathan’.
