John Michael Turturro, known for his contribution in the independent film movement, turned 64 years old yesterday. He began his career in the ‘80s with films like ‘Five Corner’ (1987), ‘Do The Right Thing’ (1989), ‘Barton Fink’ (1991), for which he won the Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Turturro has given numerous remarkable films, which are critically acclaimed by critics, as well as the audiences such as ‘The Big Lebowski’ (1998), ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’ (2000), ‘Secret Window’ (2004), etc. He has also earned huge appreciation for the ‘Transformers’ (2007-2017) film series as Simmons.
Turturro has had a prolific career not only as an actor, but also as a director and producer. He has directed some marvellous films like ‘Mac’ (1992), ‘Illuminate’ (1998), ‘Romance And Cigarettes’ (2005), ‘Fading Gigolo’ (2013), ‘The Jesus Rolls’ (2019) among others, for which he has won several accolades like Independent Spirit Award, Golden Globe Award, Primetime Emmy Award, Gotham Award, Critics’ Choice Award and many more.
John Turturro is currently gearing up for his film ‘The Batman’, where he plays the role of Carmine Falcone, is slated to release on March 4, 2022.
