After trying her hand at acting, Divya Khosla Kumar turned director with some music videos that she made for T-Series, which happens to be her husband Bhushan Kumar’s company. She gave a good account of herself as a director as the music videos she directed boasted of some striking visuals. Her first feature ‘Yaariyan’ was visually appealing too. If one goes with the trailer of ‘Sanam Re’, her second directorial venture, one can assume that the director can never go wrong with visuals.
The three minute long trailer of ‘Sanam Re’, featuring Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam, Urvashi Rautela and Rishi Kapoor, is a visual treat. Apart from Mumbai, the film has been shot in some picturesque locations like Shimla, Ladakh and Kalpa and Divya seems to have explored these places very well. From what one saw in the trailer, the film is about Akash (Pulkit Samrat) and Shruti (Yami Gautam) – childhood friends who reignite their love when they meet each other after several years. While Urvashi Rautela brings some glamour quotient, Rishi Kapoor is expected to surprise the audience with his portrayal of a 90 year old man. The music sounds promising what with one feels the urge to play the trailer again to hear Arijit Singh “Sanam Re, Sanam Re…Tu Mera Sanam Hua Re”.
The trailer, by giving one the glimpse of a mushy love story set amidst some beautiful locations, has made one look forward to the movie. One hopes it gives the audience some reason to cheer when it hits theatres on February 12, 2016, two days before the Valentine’s Day.
