Bagging international acclaim, director Aparna Sen’s ‘The Rapist’ has won the top award at the 26th Busan International Film Festival 2021. Co-produced by Applause Entertainment and Quest Films, the movie stars Konkana Sen Sharma, Arjun Rampal and Tanmay Dhanania.
The movie premiered at the renowned film festival under the section of ‘A Window on Asian Cinema’ on 7th October. The gripping Indian social drama is about a middle-class academic who wants her rapist, to whom she has fallen pregnant, to tell her why he committed such a crime. Recognised as a critically acclaimed production house, Applause Entertainment also produced the web series ‘Scam 1992’ (2020).
