Since 2019, after this Covid-19 pandemic occurred, films have started releasing on various OTT platforms and the makers have gone through huge losses. But after the second wave, since theatres started opening, the box office collections came back on track and makers started making million-dollars again.
As an example, last year ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ became the first film to collect a million-dollar in this whole pandemic. Now, it seems like we have got the second biggest box office collector and that’s none other than, ‘The Batman’. Released on March 4, the film is currently ruling the box office all over the world including its domestic theatres.
The superhero adventure film has already collected $128.5 million, marking the biggest opening weekend of 2022. Moreover, ‘The Batman’ is the second film to cross more than $100 million on its first weekend, after ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ (2021). The film is earning massive acclaim from the critics, as well as the audiences and also getting positive reviews.
‘The Batman’s story follows as Batman ventures into Gotham City’s underworld when a sadistic killer leaves behind a trail of cryptic clues. As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans become clear, he must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued the metropolis.
This is the first time Robert Pattinson starred as Batman. The film also stars Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, Jaffrey Wright, Barry Keoghan, John Turturro and directed by Matt Reeves. It is produced by DC Films, 6th & Idaho and Dylan Clark Productions and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
