The showman of Bollywood, Subhash Ghai’s ‘Karz’ was released on 11 June 1980 and it enters its 40th year. The film is still loved today as its story and music remained fresh. Featuring Rishi Kapoor, Tina Munim, Simi Garewal, Raj Kiran, Pran, Pinchoo Kapoor, Mac Mohan and others, ‘Karz’ music was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal and lyrics were penned by Anand Bakshi.
‘Karz’ was launched on Subhash Ghai’s wedding anniversary, 24 October 1978 and was a big hit at the box office. The theme of reincarnation was presented in a new manner and the audiences liked the story telling.
