The audience aren’t much familiar with hockey player Sandeep Singh’s journey which is the biggest plus point of this movie as they are eager to know what’s next. The first half is very interesting and is fast paced. Diljit Dosanjh is perfect in the role of Sandeep Singh and is well supported by Taapsee Pannu (who has a smaller role), Angad Bedi, Vijay Raaz, Satish Kaushik and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. The production values are quite good as per the mood of the film. However, the film is dragged in the second half and editing is below the mark. It also lacks that feeling of connection which ‘Chak De! India’ had. The hockey matches shown lack thrill and excitement. Music is a big disappointment. Overall, the screenplay fails to create drama and a patriotic feeling. The dialogues lack the needed punch. Overall, director Shaad Ali has done reasonably a good job.
