The pairing of Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya has been one of the most iconic and successful actor-director jodi in the history of Indian cinema.
Salman, who made his acting debut with Rajshri Productions’s film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ (1989), became the favorite of Rajshri Productions and Sooraj Barjatya from his very first film. Later, the pair gave landmark films like ‘Hum Aapke Hai Koun’ (1994) and ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ (1999).
The pair last came together on the big screen in ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ (2015), starring Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles, along with Neil Nitin Mukesh and Anupam Kher which released on the occasion of Diwali. The film may have received mixed reviews, but it made huge collections at the box office.
The audience was wishing to see this pair again after that, and now it seems that their wait is going to end soon.
Last year, Sooraj Barjatya said in an interview given during the release of his film ‘Uunchai’ (2022) that he is once again going to work with Salman on a film, whose story he has narrated to Salman and he is working on the script of the film.
Sooraj also revealed that his film with Salman will focus on married life, and the title of the film has been tentatively kept as ‘Prem Ki Shaadi’. The official announcement of this film and the announcement of the rest of the actors going to be involved in it is likely to be announced in couple of month, and according to recent news, the shooting of this film will start from November this year. The reports also state that the film is scheduled to be released on Diwali 2024.
