The music in films today might be liked or disliked but one cannot take away the fact that the era of the 1990s and 2000s has been one of the best which Bollywood has seen. Almost gone are those days when the voices of Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan will take you in a different zone courtesy of the melancholy they generate with their voices and songs. Add two more names – Sonu Nigam and Shaan and it becomes a powerhouse package.
Singer Shaan has been in the industry for many years and he has given Bollywood some of the most beautiful songs ever. Songs like “Dil Ne Tumko Chun Liya Hai”, “Chand Sifarish’, “Jadoo Hai Na Nasha”, “Hey Shona”, “Kuch Toh Hua Hai”, “My Dil Goes Mmmm” and “Jab Se Tere Naina” would be in the playlists of people for sure.
One cannot deny that nowadays we mostly have songs which are rap based or mainly are remixes of old songs. It won’t be hence wrong to say Bollywood is lacking new originals. Probably Shaan who has sung many originals himself realizes it too.
