The Indian cinema witnessed one of the most daring and twisted plots with the film ‘Baazigar’ (1993). The revenge saga became a massive success at the box office and at the critics’ window. While the film was defining in many ways, it gifted the audience their favourite star, Shilpa Shetty Kundra.
Shilpa Shetty ditched the conventional route and opted for a thrilling and path-breaking drama for her debut with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. With her first offering itself, the actress came out as a breakthrough star. The innocence in her performance and the show-stealing charisma led to her reigning era with back-to-back hits like ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ (1994), ‘Dhadkan’ (2000), ‘Rishtey’ (2002), ‘Phir Milenge’ (2004), ‘Life in a Metro’ (2007) and ‘Apne’ (2007).
While reminiscing about her journey, Shilpa Shetty posted a montage video clip on her social media from ‘Baazigar’. The actress captioned it, “Thank you! THANK YOU! THANKKKK YOU!! For all your love, support, encouragement, concern, prayers, and blessings over the past 28 YEARS! (Still can’t believe it!) Love you all! Congratulations, #TeamBaazigar! What a wonderful journey it has been. Looking forward to the next 28.”
