Pop star Shakira’s life has always been very private and less scandalous till now. But after the separation news of her and Barcelona footballer, Gerard Piqué came out after her public announcement, the former couple has been making headlines. Very recently, Shakira was threatened, chased and stalked by Piqué’s fans after the break up news and that made quite a stir on social media, although the culprits were caught by the police.
Now seems like Shakira is in big trouble. The Spanish prosecutors have demanded 8 years of imprisonment of the “Waka Waka” singer, as it’s been reported that she rejected a settlement deal on tax evasion case with them. It’s also been reported that the prosecutors have asked for nearly a fine of 24 million euros from Shakira as she has made a fraud of 14.5 million euros on her income tax between 2012 to 2014.
Shakira has rejected the plea on Wednesday, July 27 by saying through her lawyers, “Absolutely certain of her innocence” and has decided to stretch the lawsuit till court, as she believes her innocence will be proved.
The Spanish prosecutors also said that Shakira had moved to Spain in 2011 since she started dating Gerard Piqué and maintained her tax fraudulent quite well in Bahamas till 2015.
