Actor Mithun Chakraborty has starred in a number of box office successes, some of which are now considered classics. The Babbar Subhash-directed film ‘Disco Dancer’ (1982) gave him the title Disco Dancer of Bollywood. The popular songs from the movie are still deeply ingrained in our mind, even after all forty-one years. The musical-drama movie was the first from India to cross the Rs. 100 Crore at the worldwide box office.
Now, reports of a sequel to the said film are doing the rounds on the internet. Reportedly, the sequel will be produced by Babbar Subhash, who directed the previous film and the team is currently working on the script.
The sequel’s lead protagonist has not yet been chosen. However, Mithun Chakraborty will return to reprise his role of Jimmy. The father-son bond will be the main theme of the sequel, which will pick up from where the original movie left off.
The film will be helmed by ‘Sayonee’ (2020) director Nitin Kumar Gupta and an official announcement from the makers is expected soon.
