According to ESPN, Wrexham AFC is all set to face a pre-season match with Manchester United in the US this summer. Wrexham will be facing Erik Ten Hag’s team in San Diego this July. The team will be attending an US tour, which also includes Las Vegas.
Meanwhile, Wrexham is also in talks to have another pre-season match with Chelsea, which is Man UTD’s Premiere League rival. Wrexham officially announced the news about these matches which reads, “The club can confirm that our previously publicised plans to tour the US during pre-season are at an advanced stage, but are not as yet finalised. Full details of the games the club will play in and where, will be released across the Club’s communication channels when they are confirmed. We would advise fans against making any arrangements to travel to the games based on speculation, to avoid disappointment.”
Shocking the football world, the ‘Deadpool’ (2016) actor Ryan Reynolds and ‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’ (2005) actor Rob McElhenney together took over the Wrexham Association Football Club in 2021 for £21 million. Back then in an interview, while expressing their excitement, the Hollywood star duo shared that it was their dream to bid and buy a football club and that their dream has finally come true.
