It has been already two weeks and we couldn’t get over the romantic rendition between Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal in the song “Tum Kya Mile” and now Arijit is back again to give some colourful twist with “What Jhumka?” from the film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’.
With this latest song, Arijit has once again proved his versatility as a multi-genre singer. As it can be seen that “What Jhumka?” is a party anthem and everything about it is fun and entertainment, the track features Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt teasing each other on the floor with a gang of background dancers, wearing vividly bright colourful dresses. Alia’s thumka in multi-coloured chiffon saree and Ranveer’s quirky dance moves while matching the beats, have created quite a hype on the internet.
The interesting part about “What Jhumka?” is that, this song has quite a similar feel from Asha Bhonsle’s famous song “Jhumka Gira Re”, when she sang the line “Jhumka gira re/Bareilly ke bazaar mein” from ‘Mera Saaya’ (1966) and this is what making the song more gripping. This is why Madan Mohan is credited.
“What Jhumka?” is jointly sung by Arijit Singh and Jonita Gandhi and composed by Pritam and Madan Mohan. The lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and choreography done by Ganesh Acharya.
After “Tum Kya Mile”, hope “What Jhumka?” will be able to keep up the excitement among audiences for the film.
Directed by Karan Johar, starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury and Churni Ganguly, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ is all set to release on July 28, 2023.
