While in Bollywood it’s hard for celebrities to take slight insults, Hollywood celebrities never think twice to insult or roast publicly each other. This publicity stunt makes them gain huge popularity overnight. Engaging in such fun trends and roasting each other on national TV, hugely helps them in promoting films.
Remember when Scarlett Johansson roasted Chris Hemsworth by calling him ugly and in reply Chris said, “They say beauty’s on the inside and inside you is just awful”? That episode went instantly viral back in 2019. Another such roasting episode also caught much attention, when Margot Robbie and Will Smith went to promote their upcoming film ‘Sucide Squad’ in 2016. The duo had appeared on BBC Radio 1’s ‘Playground Insults’ show. There Robbie teased Smith for his big ears by saying, “Your ears stick out so much I could use them as antennas and connect to the wifi in my mom’s house back in Australia.”
In reply Will said, “The only reason that you’re saying that is ’cause you know I slept with your mother.” To such a reply, Margot couldn’t hold back and instantly replied to him, “She didn’t even bother to call you back. She thought your nickname was Big Willy but turns out she felt so misled by that nickname.”
Margot kept on roasting Will saying, “I almost like your outfit today as much as I like your outfit in the getting jiggy with a video” to which Will replied, ”The Egyptian, partly yes.” Robbie further said, “Yeah, is it fair as pharaoh for no apparent reason? You look like a less hot version of Obama, you like Obama but not as hot.”
Although Margot playfully warned Will not to bring her mom at first, the duo shockingly seemed to enjoy the banter calmly and not take it any further.
While Will Smith was last seen in ‘Emancipation’ (2022), Margot Robbie is on a roll this year with the huge success of ‘Barbie’ (2023).
