Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar’s romance was once the buzz of the industry and the couple rose to prominence after the release of ‘Mohra’ (1994). It had also come to light that they were engaged in 1995. Both had been dating each other for about five years though their relationship did not end up in marriage. Raveena Tandon detailed her engagement with Akshay Kumar in a throwback interview, as well as the cause for their breakup. The actress didn’t name Akshay but it is believed that she is referring to the popular actor.
She revealed that Akshay Kumar wanted her to step down from acting. In a talk with Simi Grewal, she revealed that she had taken a two-year break from her career in order to gain an advantage in her married life. “I had taken this decision consciously, I had gotten engaged to someone I knew. All I wanted was to live a relatively regular life,” Raveena Tandon explained.
The actress added, “I had quit work before marriage since we assumed that whenever it was the last day of my filming, we would go and get married”. Raveena refocused her profession as things became more balanced, and she received the same opportunity and stated, “Once I started my job again, he repeated the same thing that I should leave work and marry, but then I told him that previously I chose you over my profession, but today I will choose career over you”.
Raveena later married prominent film distributor Anil Thadani in the year 2004.
