‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ (2013), directed by Ayan Mukherji, is one of the most popular films of this generation. The film, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin, was a box office hit and since its release, fans have been asking if the makers have any plans for a sequel. Recently, Ranbir Kapoor opened up about this aspect.
During a fan interaction, Ranbir Kapoor stated, “Ayan had a very nice story, I remember, but then he went on this ‘Brahmastra’ journey, but he might make it in a couple of years. I believe the story will take place ten years in the future, where Bunny, Naina, Avi, and Aditi are in their lives. I believe it will be extremely intriguing and enjoyable to explore those characters.”
Ayan Mukerji directed three films in his career like ‘Wake Up Sid’ (2009), ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ (2013) and ‘Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva’ (2022) and all of them featured Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. At present, he’s all set to direct Hrithik Roshan in ‘War 2′, which is expected to go on floors by the end of this year. On the other hand, Ranbir was recently seen in Luv Ranjan’s ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ (2023) with Shraddha Kapoor. He will next be seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ with Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. It is slated to hit theatres on August 11, 2023.
