After some of the biggest filmakers from Bollywood went all out to defend the film, now when the movie is clear to run, some popular names like Rakhi Sawant, Bhairavi Raichura (Actress and Television Producer) and Mahika Sharma (Model, Actress and Philanthropist) awaits for the movie to be on floor.

Rakhi Sawant: ‘Udta Punjab’ is all about the ongoing problems of drug menace in Punjab and I knew the movie will release anyhow. As I can’t see anything fake framed in the movie it’s all about the reality. If they need to ban something then they should ban movies focusing on sex racket issues. I don’t find any reason to ban realistic movies. And drugs issues are not only in Punjab but all over. And the movie focuses the outcome of the uses of drugs.

Bhairavi Raichura: Films and TV are a great medium for awareness. In our country people worship actors. So what better way to create awareness. Awareness cannot be created just by preaching as people don’t like being lectured. So we have to do it through entertainment. Balika Vadhu as a series is a big example of this. The intention of the show was to make people aware of the negatives of child marriage. Purnendu ji, the writer always said that through this show if we can stop even one child marriage, we will achieve what we wanted. The show did change a lot of people’s thinking. I personally completely support the Udta Punjab team and now I waiting for the movie.

Mahika Sharma: A film on the drug menace in Punjab, is all about the controversy around the upcoming film ‘Udta Punjab’, but censor is not allowing it to get release. I don’t find anything wrong in it. It’s the fact which the producer and creatives are introducing to young brains. Movies are the best way which help us to learn what we are suffering. Why censor doesn’t look about the damage actually Indian television is making to Indian Culture. I supported ‘Udta Punjab’ to go on floors and happy that it’s now going on.
