Crossover or we can say universes are trending in almost every industry. We have seen Avengers, Batman, Iron Man and many other movies creating their own universe where characters from different movies meet in the same movie which leads to a crossover.
Talking about Hindi films, this trend came into existence with Rohit Shetty directorial ‘Simmba’ (2018) in which Ajay Devgn’s character appears in the climax with lead actor Ranveer Singh and then the makers introduce Akshay Kumar’s character Sooryavanshi in the film. And then over the years we’ve seen the crossover between characters of Lokesh Kanagraj directed Kaithi and Vikram and in the latest release ‘Pathaan’ (2023) where Salman Khan’s character from ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (2012) meets Shah Rukh Khan’s character Pathaan.
Now this crossover culture seems to be entering the digital world and the latest we hear is that Raj and DK are planning to setting up a universe between Bajpayee starrer ‘The Family Man’ (2019) and Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, Kay Kay Menon starrer ‘Farzi’ (2023). The makers have dropped a hint in the series that suggests Vijay Sethupathi’s character Michael speaking telephonically to Manoj Bajpayee’s character Tiwari in ‘The Family Man’.
If it happens and Raj and DK are able to convert this idea into reality, then it will surely be interesting to watch this crossover.
