Priyanka Chopra is currently enjoying the record viewership secured by ‘Citadel’ (2023). Though the show got mixed-to-negative reviews, her performance has been praised. Recently, she spoke about her journey and shared interesting anecdotes about her film ‘Aitraaz’ (2004), including how it helped her win a role in Rakesh Roshan’s ‘Krrish’ (2006). Priyanka was the love interest of Hrithik Roshan in this film.
The actress spoke about how she got her role in ‘Krrish’, during an interview on ‘The Anupam Kher Show’. She stated, “Rakesh sir saw me at a funeral, and he called me, ‘I saw you at a funeral, you’re quite attractive,’ he continued. I uttered, ‘Excuse me?’ (There was) No makeup; I was dressed in a white salwar kurta.”
Director Rakesh Roshan then told her that he was interested in seeing her performance in ‘Aitraaz’. She said, “He requested to watch my ‘Aitraaz’ rushes. I contacted Abbas-Mustan and told them, ‘Look, meri izzat ka sawal hai, please don’t show him the interval scene’.” The said sequence involves Priyanka’s character forcing herself on Akshay Kumar’s character.
Priyanka, then revealed, “Eventually I was given the role in ‘Krrish’ when Rakesh Roshan saw that sequence. I felt so ashamed that I was unable to look him in the eyes.”
