Who can forget Dilip Kumar ever! Credited with pioneering method acting in Indian cinema, the legend had a career spanning of more than five decades and had given more than sixty blockbuster films when he ruled the industry alone from ‘40s to ‘60s. He is still being referred as ‘Abhinay Samrat’ (Emperor of acting).
Dilip Kumar worked till 1999 and took his last breath in July 2021 at the age of 98. He was also honoured with Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan from Government of India and Nishan-E-Imtiaz from Government of Pakistan for his huge contributions in the entertainment industry.
On December 11, 1922 Dilip Kumar was born and hence on the big occasion of his 100th birthday, Film Heritage Foundation has decided to celebrate the day by re-releasing his few iconic films in PVR and Inox Cinemas in twenty-seven cities in India on December 10 and 11, 2022.
Amitabh Bachchan took the initiative to announce the news through his social media handle by posting a picture of Dilip Kumar from olden days. He shared that Dilip Kumar is his idol and added, “We at Film Heritage Foundation are celebrating the 100th birthday of my idol with the biggest film festival “Dilip Kumar-Hero of Heros” in PVR & Inox Cinemas in 27 cites on Dec 10 & 11. Watch the greatest Indian actor back on big screen.”
