‘OMG 2’ should be called a documentary film as it has a social message on sex education (partly on Karma), which is brilliantly attempted as the subject is touchy, sensitive and bold. Acting of Pankaj Tripathi that steals the show here but he cannot match the brilliant Paresh Rawal. Even strong actors like Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam, Arun Govil, Govind Namdev and Pavan Malhotra pale in comparison to Tripathi’s performance. Appearing in an extended cameo, Kumar’s acting is sadly becoming too predictable and that puts a big question mark on the actor’s future projects. He has a better chemistry with Paresh Rawal in the first part than here. A better script writer would have made wonders so that subtle and witty dialogues that were present in the original could be added to make this one a heartfelt and engaging courtroom drama. One chartbuster song is clearly missing here. The A Certificate kills all the chances to a more mainstream audience such as students but it will reach OTT platforms for those who want to catch it.
‘OMG 2’ is running in cinemas now.
