As the upcoming fantasy drama, ‘Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power’ is just 2 weeks away from its release on September 2, the makers held a promotional event at Mumbai on August 18. Hrithik Roshan sparkled the event with his presence and also spilled some beans about the deep nostalgic connection between ‘The Lord Of The Rings’ (2001) and his film ‘Krrish’ (2006).
Roshan revealed that after watching Peter Jackson directorial ‘The Lord Of The Rings’, his father, Rakesh Roshan, who is the director of ‘Koi..Mil Gaya’ (2003) became deeply influenced with the trilogy story. Hrithik shared, “He was talking about the way they have used this one great incredible idea and then had this progression which was so incredible and thought about why can’t we do that?”
“My father said why can’t we take ‘Koi…Mil Gaya’, which is one of our previous films and have a progression and build on that and that was the birth of ‘Krrish’. If there was no ‘The Lord Of The Rings’, there would be no ‘Krrish’,” Roshan further added.
Roshan also shared, “After completing the film, my father called me and we discussed about the grandeur of the film and everything about it in terms of filmmaking, the characters and the setting.”
Lastly, expressing his gratitude towards the ‘Lord Of The Rings’, Hrithik said, “I have to thank the makers of the film for the idea behind the franchise of ‘Krrish’.”
The promotional event was also attended by Tamannaah Bhatia along with ‘Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power’ stars Robert Aramayo, Sara Zwangobani Maxim Baldry, Lloyd Owens, Nazanin Boniadi, Megan Richards, Charles Edwards, Tyroe Muhafidin, Ema Horvath and Markella Kavenagh and the showrunner, J D Payne.
