On the occasion of Chiyaan Vikram’s 57th birthday today on April 17, the makers of his upcoming Pan-India film ‘Thangalaan’ released a making video, which gives the audiences a glimpse into the world of the historical drama based on true events on the life of mine workers in the Kolar gold fields.
Directed by Pa Ranjith, the film marks his first collaboration with Vikram, who will be seen playing the leader of a tribe.
Ranjith took to his Twitter account to share a new poster as well as the making video and captioned, “Happy birthday to my Thangalaan, @chiyaan sir. Presenting you a slice of flesh, a grand making visual video of Thangalaan as our humble tribute to Chiyaan.”

Studio Green, that is producing the film, shared the glimpse on their Twitter handle and wrote, “Power, struggle, vengeance and liberation run deeper than the mines in the world of Thangalaan. The video transports viewers in the world of ‘Thangalaan’, and after the first few shots, it concentrates on Vikram’s character. The actor also underwent a major physical makeover for his role in the period drama.
