Madhur Bhandarkar isn’t just off beat and different with respect to the films he makes but also is quite different as a personality compared to most of the directors in India.
While many don’t spend too much time on research on a particular subject before making it, Madhur can spend months to even a year to just research properly on the film he is making. The biggest example was the amount of research he did before making ‘Chandni Bar’ and that ended up being a masterpiece. The film also earned the ‘National Award’.
Since then, he has never looked back. Films like ‘Fashion’, ‘Heroine’, ‘Aan: Men at Work’, and ‘Indu Sarkar’ has strengthened his position in the industry and he has seen his life take a positive turn since then.
From a video-cassette delivery boy to a National Award winning film director, Madhur has seen it all and God has been kind to him throughout. No wonder the religious side of his comes out whenever possible and Madhur never fails to thank God for making him what he is today and also seeking blessings for his future endeavors.
Whichever city he visits, he definitely looks forward to visiting the local temple and seek the blessings of the almighty. Madhur has himself gone onto record to say that he is very religious.
The very reason, today on a Tuesday which is regarded as Lord Ganesha’s day, Madhur decided to visit the famous Siddhivinayak Temple of Lord Ganesha at Prabhadevi, Mumbai and seek God’s blessings.
Tweeting a photo of him at the temple while posing with the cops who give in their all in this heat and toil for the sake of their duty, Madhur tweeted,
As far as work is considered, Madhur is gearing up for his next, titled ‘Inspector Ghalib’. While there have been discussions and speculations about Shah Rukh Khan being the lead in it, neither Madhur nor Shah Rukh have confirmed anything yet. The film deals with the interesting subject of the sand mafia.
We wait eagerly for more updates on this.
