The legendary drummer Ronnie Tutt, who backed concerts for singer Elvis Presley till 1977 before Elvis’s death, died yesterday on 17th October at the age of 83. He also played for The Carpenters, Roy Orbison, Neil Diamond, Jerry Garcia and also had spent years of his life playing with stars like Johnny Cash and Stevie Nicks.
Announcing the news yesterday, Graceland Bosses wrote on Elvis Presley’s Twitter account, “All of us with Elvis Presley Enterprises were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ronnie Tutt. In addition to being a legendary drummer, he was a good friend to many of us. (Reposted from @VisitGraceland).”

Ronnie Tutt’s daughter, Tina broke the news of his demise and wrote on her social media, “Humble, loving, talented, god loving, loving father & husband are all words that come to mind when describing my dad. He will live on through his children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. We will hear him in music forever. He lived a great life & is now released from his suffering. Rock n roll in heaven dad, miss you already! Love you always!”
