On her 92nd birthday on 28th September the veteran and legendary singer, Lata Mangeshkar’s unheard song “Theek Nahi Lagta” got released. The song is released by director Vishal Bhardwaj under his music banner, VB Music. The song’s lyrics is penned by legendary lyricist, Gulzar.
Due to some reason the song could not be released at that time in the ‘90s and then it got lost. After 26 years it got released on 28th September, 2021.
Lata Mangeshkar ji is very happy about getting her song as a gift from Vishal Bhardwaj on her birthday and posted the song video on her Twitter and wrote, “Kuch saal pehle Vishal Bhardwaj ji ke sangeet mein ye gaana ek film ke liye record kiya tha, jise Gulzar sahab ne likha tha. Wo film baad mein bani nahi.. Vishal ji ki apni ek alag surili style hai, Aur Gulzar ji ke to kya kehne. (Few years back in Vishal Bhardwaj’s music this song was recorded for a film, which Gulzar sahab had written. That film did not release.. Vishal Bhardwaj’s style is melodious and Gulzar ji is phenomenal).”

Vishal Bhardwaj has posted about the news on his Instagram and wrote, “What emerges from a long lost tape is recorded of tenderness, beauty and melody. Composed two decades ago and reochestrated recently, this eco of the past resonates with the spirit of the Nightingale of India.
