Actor Lakkshey Dedha has been sending the internet in a tizzy with his sizzling images and also reels. All of his fans want to know more about his role in the upcoming film ‘Hindutva’, which is directed by veteran director, Karan Razdan. The director was in the city recently to promote his film and had a meeting with Kapil Mishra, a key name in the politics today.
Lakkshey, who plays a significant role in the film Hindutva had to undergo training to perfect the Kashmir accent. He plays Shakeel, a student involved deeply in the campus politics in the capital of New Delhi.
Talking about the experience, Lakkshey said, “When I got the role of Shakeel and I found out that he is a Kashmiri guy, I decided to research, in order for me to get into the skin of the character, I had to undergo training. It was important for me to understand the background of the character and find out the Kashmiri roots. I extensively read books on the partition of India. I saw a lot of films, plays and street theatre pertaining to Kashmir. I hired a trainer who helped get the diction and accent right. I attended workshops by conducted by a local Kashmiri. It was important for me to know the history of the country, the state of Kashmir and the people. The more I read and the more I did my research, the more I fell in love with my character and with the people of Kashmir. I studied their mannerisms, the way they spoke, the clothes they wear. Acting is a process and I ensured I left no stone unturned when it came to playing my character. Soon, I realised how the dialogues given to my character were in sync with how the people of Kashmir are. It is a beautiful state with amazing people it has only made me fall in love with it even more. I hope to do justice to my character and when people watch it, I hope they fall in love with Shakeel, a simple Kashmiri boy who has been stung by the world of politics.”
‘Hindutva’ also stars Ankit Raaj, veteran singer, Anup Jalota and Sonarika Bhadoria in the lead roles. The movie is hitting the screens soon.
