A jury in London on Wednesday found Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey not guilty of nine sex offences against four men. The charges included sexual assault, indecent assault and grooming and were alleged to have occurred between 2001 and 2013.
The jury at Southwark Crown Court in south London reached majority decisions on the nine counts after more than 12 hours of deliberations. The 64-year-old actor was accused of groping three men and forcing one to engage in sexual activity without consent. He denied all of the charges.
Spacey’s lawyer, Patrick Gibbs QC, said that the actor was “very grateful” for the verdict and that he had “always maintained his innocence.” He added that Spacey was “looking forward to putting this case behind him and moving on with his life.”
