K-pop band XG has finally released the first track “GRL GVNG” from their much awaited first ‘Mini Album’. In January, XG released both “SHOOTING STAR” and “LEFT RIGHT”, which went viral worldwide, hitting the Spotify Viral Top 100 Chart in forty-six countries and regions, including the US, the UK, Japan, Korea as well as the global chart. The tracks made a huge impact globally, charting in twenty-five countries and regions, including #1 in the UK, Canada and Japan and #3 in the US on YouTube’s Fastest Rising Chart. “LEFT RIGHT” also became the first track by a female Japanese artist or group to chart on the Mediabase Top 40 Radio Airplay Chart in the US and at thirteen consecutive weeks, is the longest-running charting track for an Asian girl group.
In May, XG performed for the first time in Japan at KCON JAPAN 2023, one of the world’s largest K-culture festivals. They also performed for the first time at the Head In The Clouds New York Music And Arts Festival, a large-scale music festival organised by 88rising, to the great excitement of their fans in New York.
“GRL GVNG”, which was released on June 30, heralds XG’s first ‘Mini Album’. The track expresses XG’s unity, which only grows stronger through the challenges they face, “Our unique style will take us to the top, without compromising and without comparing ourselves to anyone.”
