Ever since Johnny Depp was falsely accused by ex-wife, Amber Heard four years ago, Disney had ousted the actor from the ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ franchise. Reportedly, the actor had lost $22 million along with his famous role of Captain Jack Sparrow. Later, Depp filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard and in May this year, he won the case and also got awarded $15 million in damages by the jury.
Since then there were lots of rumours roaming around that Depp will be returning in the next ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ film, Disney has finally offered him a new project and that Disney has apologized to Depp.
Recently, Johnny Depp’s representative has finally opened up and commented on these rumours and absolutely denied about his returning to Disney. He has also denied the very recent rumour about Depp being paid a whopping amount of $301 million by Disney. His representative told to NCB News, “Two years had gone by of constant worldwide talk about me being this wife-beater. So I’m sure that Disney was trying to cut ties to be safe. The #MeToo movement was in full swing at that point. They didn’t remove my character from the rides. They didn’t stop selling dolls of Captain Jack Sparrow. They didn’t stop selling anything. They just didn’t want there to be something trailing behind me that they would find.”
Although, fans are still eagerly waiting for the news of Depp’s return, but seems like currently it is not at all happening. After the lawsuit ended, Johnny has been busy focusing on his music career and has been performing numerous concerts along with English guitarist, Jeff Beck. The actor has also set to release a new album next month. Johnny has also released a statement saying, “The best is yet to come and a new chapter has finally begun.”
