‘Jawan’ is a high-octane action thriller that is sure to entertain audiences of all ages because it is value for money. Directed by Atlee, Shah Rukh Khan in a never-seen-before avatar works big time. This marks his spectacular return and sets the bar higher for him. Joined by a stellar supporting cast that includes Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and having Sanjay Dutt and Deepika Padukone in a cameo appearance succeeds in moving the story forward. Its engaging screenplay keeps the audience hooked from start to finish. The story is also thought-provoking and raises some important questions about the state of our society. On top of that, the action sequences, VFX and stunts are a delight, when watched on the big screen. Music by Anirudh is the biggest disappointment and it is one of the weakest in SRK’s career so far. Crisp editing could have made it shorter. The jokes are not always funny. Watch it for King Khan and enjoy this masala entertainment despite some flaws here and there.
