Who can forget ‘Jab We Met’? The bubbly rom-com movie has captured a special place in audiences’ hearts. It’s like an evergreen feature from the 2000s. Even these days, it will make your heart pound and can easily make you stick to your couch. Released in 2007, it’s been sixteen years, the storyline, the characters, the acting of Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan, the songs, the direction, accumulating all, it is a masterpiece.
If it’s an Imtiaz Ali film, it can never be boring. It can only get better and better each time. You will literally feel every story of his is ahead of its time. For the unversed, ‘Jab We Met’ was the first film for them together, when Shahid and Kareena started dating. Hence it’s very much anticipated for its success. The duo’s real-life love story literally sparked in the reel-life story.
Now after immense penance from fans, we learnt that ‘Jab We Met’ is going to have a sequel. Lots of questions are getting entangled in your head, right? The first question which instantly clicks is that Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan, who have become the legendary exes, are they going to reunite for this sequel or not? According to a report in Zoom Digital, Raj Mehta of Gandhar Films will be taking the initiative for this sequel.
To keep you more excited, they have not confirmed the main leads yet. Even they did not talk about whether Imtiaz Ali will also be returning as the director or not, although the news created speculations about him as the first part did so well.
Even back in February, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, when a fan asked a tricky question to Shahid about his frequent interactions with Imtiaz nowadays, sparking ‘Jab We Met’ sequel, Kapoor interestingly kept the reply in just two words, “Smart boy”. No wonder, this instantly went viral and made quite headlines at that time.
Although Shahid and Kareena have worked together in ‘Udta Punjab’ (2016), they did not have any screen time together. Truly it would become a saga if the two Kapoors sizzle on the silver screen once again.
