Remember that villanious and arrogant character named, Sebastian from the film ‘Hollow Man’ (2000), who developed a serum for the military that can make a subject invisible and to experiment it on human body, he turned himself as an object and became completely invisible? That memorable role of Sebastian was portrayed by Kevin Bacon. Yesterday, on July 8, the actor has turned 64 years old.
Bacon is widely known for the famous parlor game ‘Six Degrees Of Kevin Bacon’, where players challenge each other to arbitrarily choose an actor and then connect them to another actor via a film that both actors have appeared in together, repeating this process to try to find the shortest path that ultimately leads to the prolific actor, Kevin Bacon. It rests on the assumption that anyone involved in the Hollywood film industry can be linked through their film roles to Bacon within six steps.
Born in Philadelphia, Kevin rose to fame with ‘Footloose’ (1984), where he played the iconic role of rebellious Ren McCormack. Since then, he has become a staple of portraying protagonist roles in films like ‘Tremors’ (1990), ‘A Few Good Men’ (1992), ‘Sleepers’ (1996), ‘Wild Things’ (1998), ‘Trapped’ (2002), ‘Hollow Man 2’ (2006), ‘X Men: First Class’ (2011) and many more.
Not only Kevin is a terrific actor, but also a talented musician. He has also created a band with his brother, Michael Bacon named, ‘Bacon Brothers’. The band makes folk-rock music and their last album ‘The Way We Love’ was released in 2020.
