Hollywood pop-star Britney Spears has given us numerous striking songs during the late ‘90s and 2000s, that are still prominent and chartbusters, for which she is also referred as the ‘Princess Of Pop’. Spears has sold nearly 150 million records worldwide, which made her one of the most selling music artists of all. She started her career at a very young age with Jive Records in 1997. Her “Baby One More Time” and “Oops! I Did It Again” are the best selling albums of all time.
Last year, Britney’s conservatorship with her father, James Parnell Spears was terminated in November by the US district court. The thirteen years of conservatorship battle was not easy for the singer, as she claimed that she was mentally abused and was forced to live a life according to her father. Jamie Spears used to handle her business, personal affairs and properties. After the termination, Britney occasionally shared posts on Instagram and showed that she feels free and happy with her life now. On New Year’s eve, Britney shared a video, truck loaded of birds set free and she wrote in the caption that it was symbolic to her.
On February 17, the singer shared a post, which is a letter from the Congress Of The United States. In the letter, they invited Spears to present a speech on conservatorship. She got invited along with her attorney, Mathew Rosengart to describe in her own words about how she achieved justice. The letter was sent on December 1, 2021.
In the caption, Britney wrote a heartfelt note, that she wants to help those, who are in vulnerable situations and are living a pretty messed up life. She wrote, “I received this letter months ago… An invitation to share my story… I was immediately flattered and at the time I wasn’t nearly at the healing stage I’m in now…Number 1 – I’m grateful that my story was even ACKNOWLEDGED !!! Because of the letter, I felt heard and like I mattered for the first time in my life !!! In a world, where your own family goes against you, it’s actually hard to find people that get it and show empathy!!!! Again, I’m not here to be a victim although I’m the first to admit I’m pretty messed up by it all … I want to help others in vulnerable situations, take life by the balls and be brave.”
She further kept writing, “I wish I would have been … I was so scared and nothing is worse than your own family doing what they did to me … I’m lucky to have a small circle of adorable friends who I can count on … In the mean time thank you to Congress for inviting me to the White House.”
Britney’s current boyfriend, Sam Asghari encouraged her in the comments and called her “lioness” by saying, “Your courage will inspire others, your strength will motivate many, your voice has and will change lives. You’re powerful. Beautiful. And strong. This is why I call you lioness.”
