After numerous controversies for the past 7 months, British novelist, J.K. Rowling has finally opened up about her not being present at the ‘Harry Potter Reunion’ documentary, which was released in January this year on the occasion of ‘Harry Potter’s (1997-2011) twentieth anniversary. The team of the film, including the actors, directors and producers can be seen in the documentary sharing their experiences and views. Strangely, only the author of the popular novel was missing.

Yesterday on August 27, while chatting with Graham Norton in Virgin Radio, Rowling talked for hours and explained that why she was not featured in the documentary and said, “I was asked to be on that, and I decided I did not want to do it. I thought it was about the films more than the books, quite rightly. That was what the anniversary was about. No one said don’t do it, I was asked to do it and I decided not to.”

During the interview, Rowling has also talked about her recent experience on social media about getting death threat for sending condolence to novelist, Salman Rushdie after he faced an attack. She shared, “I try to behave online as I would like others to behave. I have never threatened anyone. I certainly wouldn’t want anyone to go to their houses or anything like that.”

“Social media can be a lot of fun and I do like the pub argument aspect of it. That can be a fun thing to do. I sort of have a love-hate relationship with it now. I can happily go for a few days without getting into a pub brawl”, Rowling further continued.
