After the success of the first two series in the Housefull franchise, it comes as no surprise that the makers decide to roll a third part. Though Sajid Khan had directed the first two films in the series, writers turned directors Sajid-Farhad (who had earlier directed ‘Entertainment’) were given the responsibility to helm ‘Housefull 3’. While Akshay Kumar and Ritesh Deshmukh have been a part of the series since its inception, Abhishek Bachchan, who gave a good account of his comic timing in ‘Happy New Year’, joins in as one of the new male leads. Jacqueline Fernandez, who graduated from doing a dance number in ‘Housefull’ to playing one of the female leads in ‘Housefull 2’, has Nargis Fakhri and Lisa Haydon for company here.
‘Housefull 3’ is a sequel-in-spirit to the earlier films and seems to follow the basic central idea – mayhem taking place in a house – of the earlier parts. The trailer begins with a scenic view of London, where the film has been shot in and then, we are introduced to Batuk Patel (Boman Irani), a father of three daughters (Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri and Lisa Haydon), who for some reason does not want his daughters to get married. His daughters soon inform him that they have a boyfriend each (Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan). Things take a serious turn with the entry of Jackie Shroff, who plays a negative role.
The trailer pretty much offers all that you expect a film from the Housefull series. The chaos resulting from mistaken identity, the gags, the glitzy look – everything is there. One gets to see a glimpse of the kind of humour one associates with Sajid–Farhad. Though some of the dialogues appear to be a little childish, the trailer delivers what one expects from it. Nothing more, nothing less.
