The 80-year-old anime director has the magic of quality and content in his works. He co-founded the legendary Studio Ghibli that is famous for huge crossovers including ‘My Neighbor Totoro’ (1988), ‘Spirited Away’ (2001), ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’ (2004) and ‘Ponyo’ (2008).
In 2013 he announced his retirement but he had many unfinished projects including a film titled ‘How Do You Live?’. This film is the reason he called off his retirement and he is returning back to complete this film that will be his last work. The movie is based on a 1937 novel by Yoshino Genzaburo of the same name. The story revolves around a 15-year-old boy in Tokyo, who lost his father and is fond of mischief. Most of the information is kept secret about the film.
His last official film before his retirement was ‘The Wind Rises’ (2013). When reporters asked why he decided to complete the film he replied that he did so because he wanted to.
