J.K. Rowling, who is the author of the famous novel series, ‘Harry Potter’, recently took to her Twitter to show support and prayers for novelist, Salman Rushdie, who got attacked and stabbed on a public forum while delivering a lecture in western New York on Friday, August 12. He is currently in a serious condition and put on ventilation.
In her tweet, Rowling wrote, “Horrifying news. Feeling very sick right now. Let him be ok.” And for showing her condolence, Rowling got a death threat on social media. A Twitter user named, Meer Asif Aziz wrote in the comments, “Don’t worry. You are next.” Currently it has also been proven that the user, Aziz has also supported Hadi Matar, the assassin of Rushdie.
Rowling responded to the death threat by posting screenshots of the comment and a post of Aziz’s, where he praised and supported Hadi Matar and wrote, “@TwitterSupport These are your guidelines, right? “Violence: You may not threaten violence against an individual or a group of people. We also prohibit the glorification of violence… “Terrorism/violent extremism: You may not threaten or promote terrorism…”
