The concept of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) has not been a well explored theme in the Hindi film industry and debutant director Raj Mehta nails it. Despite an original script, the one-liners do not create such a huge impact and the series of predictable gags are funny, but not to the expected extent. The comedy of errors genre is inquisitively handled and it delivers at most places, with Akshay Kumar’s comic timing at its best. The actor, who is on a roll, alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, look fantastic and dashing together, as the couple from Mumbai. The couples’ characters, mannerisms and development are beautifully written to give the script a real feel they are expecting a baby. The differences between the urban couple and a weird pair (the talented and quirky Diljit Dosanjh and the gorgeous Kiara Advani) from Chandigarh evoke a lot of laughter. The uncomfortable subject may not please everyone in the audience, especially those who still hold on to traditional values of conceiving a baby. Music is one of the greatest assets and helps in giving it a funky feel, with a high dose of Punjabi beats. The second half contains too many scenes which are overly dramatic and could have been avoided. It all culminates in an emotional climax, which makes this multi-starrer, with a bold theme, a winning affair!
