‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ (2001) is one of the most iconic films of Indian cinema. Though it released more than two decades ago, it still exudes a charm thanks to Sunny Deol’s strong and powerful acting, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma’s innocence and the unforgettable action scenes. Hence the news of the sequel made us instantly excited.
The sequel ‘Gadar 2’ finally released on August 11 and unbelievably it has already collected Rs. 299.98 Crore at the global box office, that too within a week. It can be said that the engaging storyline along with the powerful cast have once again successfully captivated the audiences.
Such grand success of ‘Gadar 2’ has amazed the makers as well as the whole cast. Hence a success party was hosted by the makers to celebrate the triumph. Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, director Anil Sharma and many other celebrities were in attendance in this bash. While Sunny was seen in full white attire, Ameesha was seen wearing a shimmering green organza saree. Gaurav Chopra, who played the role of Lieutenant Colonel Devendra Rawat in the film, also rocked the party in a suit.
The story of ‘Gadar’ was about Tara Singh (Sunny Deol), an Indian truck driver, who marries Sakina (Ameesha Patel), a Pakistani woman, after the partition of India and Pakistan and started living a happy married life. However their happiness is short-lived when Sakina’s father forces her to shift to Pakistan and separates her from her family.
This time, in ‘Gadar 2’, Tara Singh once again returns to Pakistan to bring his son Charanjeet Singh (Utkarsh Sharma) back home with huge struggle and actions.
