‘Major’ the film focused on the endearing love story and journey of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s wife. It showed the innocence of school romance to a modern day love story to the tragedy of untimely death for the love of your nation.
The film evoked love, joy, anger, patriotism and a plethora of emotions thanks to its fabulous acting. One thing that has been noticed by critics and fans alike is how well Saiee has played roles across multiple age groups.
She played the role of a young school girl and being 20 years herself, there is a natural panache that she brings to the subtlety of this part. She then goes to play the college sweetheart with light romantic moments that seal the beautiful relationship that Major and she share.
Post this, she played the dutiful army wife and in a mature way. She holded her own in the high octane emotional moments and this is impressive for a 20 year old. Saiee showed the much needed confidence, strength and sacrifice of the heroines who stand as pillars of support for men and women in the Army.
Depicting a strong, independent and modern woman who kept her beliefs in line with the norms of society, Saiee Manjrekar delivered an inspiring performance.
