‘Force’ turned out to be an average grosser when it released half a decade back. Though the film was a so-so success, John Abraham’s image as an action hero and the title of the film compelled the makers to think about developing it as a franchise. Circa 2016, John Abraham reprises his role as ACP Yashvardhan in ‘Force 2’. While the first part, which was a remake of the Tamil film ‘Kaakha Kaakha’, was helmed by Nishikant Kamat, Abhinay Deo directs the second installment in the franchise.
The trailer opens with the voice of Tahir Raj Bhasin, who essays the role of the antagonist, vowing to settle scores with RAW agents from India. Then comes John Abraham mouthing a few dialogues that reinstate the fact that the film is indeed is a proper sequel and not just something that aims to milk the brand value of ‘Force’. The trailer, apart from being filled with bits and pieces of action sequences that look promising, enlightens one about the basic plotline.
Apart from directing ‘Game’ and ‘Dehli Belly’, Abhinay Deo has also been associated with the first season of 24 India as a director. The Indian version of the famous international series was a thriller with several action sequences and boasted of a slick look. Going by the trailer of ‘Force 2’, one is tempted to say the same about this film. While one is not sure as to how the film would turn out, the trailer suggests that the action sequences and the overall look of the film is several notches higher than ‘Force’.
Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s ‘Force 2’ has extensively been shot in international locations like Budapest and China. Presented by Viacom18 Motion Pictures in association with Sunshine Pictures Pvt.Ltd. and JA Entertainment Pvt. Ltd, it releases on 18 November 2016.
