Ever since Johnny Depp’s defamation lawsuit’s second trial against ex-wife, Amber Heard started this April and the ongoing case has been publicly displayed, fans are eagerly waiting for Depp’s justice. Social media have been abuzz nowadays by all the fans as they are super annoyed and taking their anger out on Amber Heard.
Although the makers have wrapped up filming the sequel of ‘Aquaman’ long ago, but still DC fans have signed a petition in 2020 to remove Amber Heard from the upcoming action-fantasy ‘Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom’. The news have been currently making quite a stir on social media now. The number of signatures on the Change.org petition has surpassed its initial goal of 3 million on this Monday, May 2 and now a new goal of 4.5 million has been set after that.
The ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ (2003) actor has sued Heard for $50 million over an opinion piece article, where Heard said to The Washington Post, “I write this as a woman who had to change my phone number weekly because I was getting death threats. For months, I rarely left my apartment and when I did, I was pursued by camera drones and photographers on foot, on motorcycles and in cars. Tabloid outlets that posted pictures of me spun them in a negative light. I felt as though I was on trial in the court of public opinion and my life and livelihood depended on myriad judgments far beyond my control.” After Depp filed the defamation lawsuit, Amber counter-sued Depp for $100 million for smearing her a liar.
Amber Heard, who gave a striking performance in the 2018 blockbuster ‘Aquaman’ opposite Jason Momoa, is now reprising her role as Princes Mera in the sequel, which is all slated to release in 2023.
However, the renowned film critic, Grace Randolph has recently tweeted that Amber Heard has got only less than a ten minute of screening in the sequel. But the way fans are currently aggressive and dead serious with the situation, seems like everything can change within one blink of an eye for Heard. Although Many DC fans have also urged to replace Amber with actress, Emilia Clarke.
