On 26th November, Thanksgiving week, two big budget Hollywood films released, which are Walt Disney’s animated movie ‘Encanto’ and Metro Goldwyn-Mayer’s (MGM) crime drama ‘House Of Gucci’. It is been reported that ‘Encanto’ is carrying on with highest grossing till now and it has earned $7.5 million on its first day of release and ‘House Of Gucci’ has earned $4.2 million on its opening day. Both had a theatrical release worldwide.
Currently, ‘Encanto’ is ruling the box office and the animated adventure movie earned $11 million till Friday from 3,980 theatres and is moving forward to $43 million within five days of its release. It has become now a tradition for Disney to release animated movies on November every year as it is been beneficial for them just like ‘Coco’, which released on 22nd November, 2017 and earned $72 million all total, ‘Ralph Breaks The Internet’, which released on 23rd November, 2018 and earned $84 million and ‘Frozen 2’, which released on 22nd November 2019 and earned $130 million. Even after this ongoing pandemic and theatres opened after so long, movies are still earning the same within one month of their releases. Few days back on 5th November, Rawson Marshall Thurber’s ‘Red notice’ had released and it has also ruled the box office as well as became the Top 10 on Netflix.
Meanwhile, Ridley Scott’s ‘House Of Gucci’ had earned $5.73 million from 3,477 theatres till Friday and it is moving towards $21.8 million within five days of its release. The film is based on a true event. It is a story about the conspiracy and murder of the head of the Italian fashion brand, Maurizio Gucci. He was murdered by his ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani.
‘Encanto’ is a story about a Madrigal family, who lives in the mountains of Colombia in a hidden place named Encanto. Each member of the town is blessed with magic, except Mirabel. However, she soon discovers that her town is in danger and now it is upto her how she is going to save her town. The character Mirabel is voiced by actress Stephanie Beatriz.
